Allie + Trevor – The Addison Grove – Austin, TX

Just when I think I’m not a fan of winter, I get the change to photograph a wedding in Texas at the beginning of January.

Y’all, as if there aren’t enough reasons to love Texas, their mild winters make for a photographer’s dream. Actually, can I be a snow bird photographer? That sounds like the best of both worlds, right?

Seth and I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Allie and Trevor’s Austin, Texas, winter wedding and what a treat it was! I’m pretty certain we both walked away saying, “This might be the best wedding I’ve ever attended.” Which, if I know us, was followed immediately by, “Now, get me off my feet.” Haha!

Just after New Years, we packed our bags and headed southwest where we greeted in the hotel by the sweetest little care package! Allie did such a great job of giving her out of town guests a little taste of Texas, and I have to tell you, by the time we made it back to the hotel the night of the wedding, I was ready to devour ALLLL the snacks. Also, I’m sure that’s where the start of my dark chocolate covered almond obsession began.

The Addison Grove sits just to the west of Austin and was the perfect backdrop for Allie and Trevor to say “I do.’ (I mean…. just wait until you see the ceremony setup! A dream!) Trevor hails from New Mexico and Allie from Alabama with lots of Louisiana roots, so their current home of Austin was just perfect for family to gather in the middle.

Seth spent the day with Trevor and his guys, most of which were Trevor’s college football buddies during his time at West Texas A & M. When I met up with them mid-way through the day, Seth immediately started recounting the jokes they’d been making and movies they’d quoted. And that, my friends, is how you know guys have hit it off. And I love it.

Meanwhile, I had the opportunity to spend the day with the lovely ladies and all the pretty. Allie was flanked by her oldest sister, Ashlee (a sorority sister of mine from Auburn), and her younger sister, Emmy. And let me just tell you, I ADORE the relationship these three have. Emmy is so lucky to have two big sisters who think the world of her, and Allie is, too, very blessed to have such supportive and loving sisters to not only celebrate a marriage with, but a lifetime.

It was a beautiful day to join two lives as one under the intertwined trees on the property. The evening Texas sun shone bright as family and friends watched the bride and groom commit to an entirely new adventure as The Hammargrens. And as the sun dipped below the horizon, the party really kicked off. And boy, oh boy, was it a party! You’ll notice the overwhelming amount of reception photos, because we had a non-stop, highly entertaining dance floor!

Allie and Trevor finished off the night with what may be one of my favorite emerging wedding traditions – a last dance. The reception space was emptied, and Allie donned her fur stole as the two swayed together one last time before making an exit. It was the culmination of a fun and lively day, and it was the perfect few moments for the two to sink it all in, reflect on what had just taken places, and spend just a few moments together reveling in their new shared last name. I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of my own tears.

I hope you enjoy this little look into their day…

Welcome to Texas!
The bride’s cottage at The Addison Grove is SPECTACULAR! And these sisters made the moment so very sweet.
Allie had a special gift made for Trevor’s mom.
I was so tickled by these guys and their pocket squares! They were really concentrating!
I’m sorry, but did someone say GQ cover?
How cute is she?!
STUNNING.
When the musicians are in that PERFECT light…
Y’all… I could not get enough of Trevor’s reaction to Allie’s entrance.
Can we just talk about these trees?
I love capturing as many guests as I can during the ceremony, as well. Isn’t this little couple just the sweetest?
You may now kiss the bride!
That “Just Married” feeling!
Models, I tell ya.
You may notice my love for this cake in the following photos. I do not apologize. It was beautiful!
Now, let’s get this party started!
These guys were SO MUCH FUN!
Also, how cute are Ashlee and Matt?!
This was a highlight of my night… be able to show a preview of images from the day!
We snuck out for a few fun flash shots before the night was over.
The last dance…
Swwon.
And they lived happily ever after….
