Shenzhen Duty Free Group wins bid for Xiamen Dongdu International Cruise Center contract

CHINA. Shenzhen Duty Free Group has snapped up another duty free contract by winning the operational rights for the departures duty free store at Xiamen Dongdu International Cruise Center.

The contract award, revealed on 2 July by Xiamen Peace Wharf Co (a subsidiary of Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Group), is the group’s third tender triumph in the past two months, following successes at Shenzhen Shekou Cruise Center and Wuxi Shuofang International Airport.

The latest victory will see Shenzhen Duty Free Group open a store within phase two of Xiamen Dongdu Cruise International Center’s new terminal, opening soon.

Xiamen Dongdu Cruise Home Port currently serves about 400,000 inbound and outbound passengers each year. After the new terminal opens, capacity will climb to 800,000.

“With the opening of many boutique routes, including the Asia Pacific route and the Southeast Asian coastal route in the second half of the year, cross-border tourism from Xiamen Cruise Home Port will usher in a strong recovery, and the future business potential is huge,” the retailer said.

Shenzhen Duty Free Group pledged to leverage its supply chain and brand strengths, focus on the diverse needs of cruise passengers and deeply integrate online and offline  channels.

These moves will stimulate Xiamen’s tourism consumption and promote the high-quality development of the local cruise economy as well as the group’s core duty-free business, the company added.

“This bid success is not only the result of the group’s concerted efforts but also an affirmation of our duty-free business performance and the Shenzhen Duty Free brand,” it added. ✈
