Korea Airports Corporation and Lotte Duty Free celebrate launch of online duty-free shop

SOUTH KOREA. Korea Airports Corporation and Lotte Duty Free have celebrated the launch of KAC Airport Online Duty Free Service with a commemorative event yesterday (26 June) at Gimpo International Airport.

As reported, the two companies partnered to develop South Korea’s first online airport duty-free shop for Gimpo, Gimhae and Jeju international airports.

The online duty-free service is designed to allow travellers departing through these airports to make their duty-free purchases in advance.

The launch ceremony featured a demonstration of how to access and use the KAC Airport online duty-free service.

To enjoy shopping and search for duty-free products through the new platform, customers can visit the website of Korea Airports Corporation or one of the airports. To make a purchase, they will be directed to a separate page developed by Lotte Duty Free.

The products can be picked up at Lotte Duty Free’s Gimpo, Gimhae and Jeju airport outlets without having to visit the delivery centre. Online purchases at existing downtown duty-free shops can be made three hours before departure, but with the new KAC online duty-free shop, customers can make their purchases one hour before boarding.

To promote this new shopping platform, the partners are offering up to -25% discount on 22 products across cosmetics, eyewear, food and wines & spirits until 8 July.

They also aim to roll out other promotional events, including special giveaways and lucky draws.

A Lotte Duty Free official said: “We expect that the convenience of customers departing through Gimpo, Gimhae and Jeju international airports will increase as they will be able to purchase duty-free goods online up to one hour before departure.

“Lotte Duty Free will collaborate with Korea Airports Corporation in many ways. We will continue to improve our online and offline shopping infrastructure.” ✈
